Some customers will not be eligible to access a virtual card. If you are eligible, you must verify your identity before accessing your virtual card. In some cases, you will not be able to access your virtual card until approximately 30 days after account opening, and you may not have access to your full credit line until your physical card is activated. Not all recurring charges and subscriptions may be identified. The ability to block a charge through this feature may not be available with all merchants. Customers should refer to their account statements to see all of their recurring charges and subscriptions.

If you block future charges, all charges from the selected merchant will be declined, not just the selected recurring charge. Blocking charges does not change the selected merchant's account settings. To cancel or manage your account, contact the merchant directly. The merchant may hold you responsible for any charges related to the terms of your agreement. Some activity may continue, including certain charges from merchants that our systems are unable to block, payments, interest, account fees and purchase transactions. In some instances a merchant may override a blocked charge. Capital One customers are responsible for regularly checking their account statements and for any charges related to merchant agreements customers do not cancel with the merchant.

With Card Lock, some activity may continue, including returns, credits, payments, interest, dispute adjustments, other account fees, purchase transactions during system downtime and certain other exempted transactions.

Your CreditWise score is calculated using the TransUnion® VantageScore® 3.0 model, which is one of many credit scoring models. Your CreditWise score can be a good measure of your overall credit health, but it is not likely to be the same score used by creditors. The availability of the CreditWise tool depends on our ability to obtain your credit history from TransUnion. Some monitoring and alerts may not be available to you if the information you enter at enrollment does not match the information in your credit file at (or you do not have a file at) one or more consumer reporting agencies.

CreditWise Alerts are based on changes to your TransUnion and Experian® credit reports and information we find on the dark web.
