WE’VE BEEN FOLLOWING THIS DEVELOPING STORY ALL DAY, AND SINCE THIS AFTERNOON WE HAVE YOU COVERED ON THE GROUND AND IN THE AIR, ALONG WITH SOME OF YOU SENDING US PICTURES AND VIDEOS. AS YOU JUST SAW, IT HAPPENED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE SUNPORT OFF UNIVERSITY. WE’RE TOLD IT WAS AN EF 35 FOR THE MARINE CORPS EMERGENCY CREWS TELLING US THE PILOT EJECTED BEFORE THE PLANE WENT DOWN AND CAUGHT ON FIRE. HE WAS THE ONLY ONE ON BOARD. HE WAS CONSCIOUS AND BREATHING WHEN HE WAS FOUND. COMMERCIAL FLIGHTS WERE STOPPED, BUT THE SUNPORT SAYS THEY’VE NOW RESUMED. THE PILOT WAS LOCATED OFF SITE, AWAY FROM THE AREA OF THE CRASH, WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. TWO PEOPLE THAT WERE ON ON UNIVERSITY ACTUALLY GOT ASSESSED FOR INJURIES BECAUSE SOME OF THAT DEBRIS HAD IMPACTED THEIR VEHICLE, KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE TELLING US THE AIRCRAFT TOOK OFF FROM LOCKHEED MARTIN IN FORT WORTH AND WAS TRYING TO LAND AT KIRTLAND TO REFUEL. THEY SAY THE CRASH HAPPENED AROUND 148. THE PILOT IS IN STABLE CONDITION. NEW TONIGHT ABC NEWS PROVIDING US THE DISPATCH BETWEEN EMERGENCY RESPONDERS AFTER MULTIPLE CALLS CAME IN ABOUT AN EXPLOSION IN THE AREA. BATTALIONS ON SCENE. YOU GO AHEAD AND GO TO THE F-15 GATE. THE SITE OF THE ACCIDENT IS OFF UNIVERSITY. THE PILOT WAS FOUND ON THE RUNWAY EARLIER WE WE MENTIONED THE SUNPORT TOLD US FLIGHTS WERE RESUMING. AND AS OF THIS EVENING, THERE HAVE BEEN 43 DELAYS AND 21 CANCELLATIONS. THE AIRPORT ALSO SAYS AREAS OF RIO BRAVO AND UNIVERSITY WILL BE CLOSED TONIGHT.
